Heidi was written in 1880 by the Swiss author Johanna Spyri. It is a book written about children for children. Heidi is a young orphan who is sent to live with her embittered Grandfather high in the Swiss Alps after the death of her parents.There she meets the goatherd Peter. Later she becomes the close confident of Clara Sesemann when she is sent to Frankfurt as a hired companion. Heidi is a timeless story of God's redemptive love and the power of friends to overcome life's toughest challenges.
