The Red Fairy Book (Volume 2 of the “Colored Fairy Books"). The “Colored Fairy Books”, by Andrew Lang, together make up one of the largest collections of fairy tales ever compiled from a broad range of cultures and nationalities. In all, the collection presents 437 fairy tales over twelve volumes – each named by a distinctive color. All the volumes have been richly illustrated primarily by Henry J. Ford. The Red Fairy Book, first published in 1890, contains the classics “Jack and the Beanstalk”, “Rapunzel”, “The Golden Goose”, “The Six Sillies”, and 33 other tales.
